15 HEALLING POWER OF HONEY

1. Respiratory Diseases and Heart Related Ailments
(a) Cough: Grind some bitter kola (Orogbo in Yoruba) and garlic (Ayu in
      Yoruba) and mix the powders to 33cl bottle of natural honey.
      Adult: 3 teaspoonfuls 3 times daily.
      Children: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily.
(b) Cold: Mix honey with lime orange.
     Adult: 3 teaspoonfuls 3 times daily
     Children: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily
(c) Asthma:
(I) Mix castor oil with honey; mix one bottle of castor oil with
     5 bottles of honey (using the castor oil bottles to measure
     i.e. ratio 1:5). Then stir well and pour into bottle.
Dosage: Adults take 1 desert spoonful morning and evening.
    Children: 1 teaspoonful morning and evening
Note of Warning
This preparation is NOT to be taken by pregnant women
(II) Mix the white fluid of snail with honey to form syrup, one
      until white fluid from snail with five unit of pure undiluted
      Honey. Stir well and pour into a bigger bottle.
      Adult: 3 teaspoonfuls 3 times daily
      Children: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily
(d) Heart Weakness: Garlic (Ayu) is an all-purpose herb. Grind some
     garlic and mix in honey.
     Adult: 3 teaspoonfuls 3 times daily
     Children: 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily
     Garlic and ginger (Atare in Yoruba), grind them and mix all in undiluted
     honey.
     Adults: Take one (1) tablespoonful in the evening
2. Diabetes
    Get bitter leave (Ewuro in Yoruba) use water and garlic (Ayu in Yoruba)
    squeeze out the water, add little (Kannun) and lime juice.
    Dosage: 1 glass 3 times daily. Also Diabetic patient should abstain from
    taking sugar and form the habit of taking a big spoonful of undiluted
    honey three times a day for three months.
3. Ulcer Treatment
    Honey is an alkaline substance. It reduces the sources of the stomach and
    smooths the ulcer. To make it more successful, the honey should be
    taken two hours before meal and gulp warm water.
    In addition, ulcer patients should eat foods containing vitamins A, C and
    E, which soothe stomach ulcers. Some of the food that contain vitamin A
    are wheat, green peppers, liver, eggs, tomatoes, green vegetable, vitamin
    C is contained in fresh oranges, grape fruits, lemons, cucumbers honey
    garlic, carrot leave and all fruits.
    Also vitamin E is found in pears, potatoes, lemons, carrot, corm oil,
    what, germ, local rice, pumkin seed, nut and raspberry leave.
4. Cardiac Problems
    Grind 10 bulbs of garlic and 10 bulbs of onions; mix thoroughly with 3
    litres of undiluted natural honey.
    Dosage: 3 spoonful 3 times daily for adult only.
5. Tuberculosis
     Grind ginger, garlic and bitter kola and mix 50cl of undiluted honey
     Dosage: 3 spoonfuls 3 times daily for 2 months (Adult only).
6. Blood Tonic and Blood Purifier
    Prepare a cup of pineapple juice. Add mashed banana, one raw egg. Mix
    the mixture very well and add 33cl of honey and mix thoroughly. One
    spoonful to be taken at night before going to bed.
7. Measles, Small Pox and Chicken Pox & Rashes
    Regular usage of honey will serve as preventive measure for Measles,
    small pox and chicken pox. Rub undiluted natural honey on the affected
    part of the body.
    Due to the osmotic pressure on human body honey is capable of
    extracting pathogens from rashes or measles, small pox and chicken pox.
    The rashes soon dry up after applying honey to the affected area of
     the body.
8. Tiredness
    Whenever you feel tired and cold put two-desert spoonful of honey into a
    glass of warm water and drink.
9. Malaria
(a) Ewe Akintola in Yoruba or shell leave is uttermost effective for malaria.
     The leaves, flowers and soft stem can be boiled for steaming and drink
      freely while fever is on. Some quality (according to your taste) of honey can be added to it.
      Take one or two glasses daily.
(b) An unpopular but effective herb for malaria is the root of “EWEDU”
     which finds its way to the dustbin. (Ewedu is that drawing vegetable
      eaten by Yoruba’s). This is boiled and taken as tea. Boil much at time
      and sieve into a flask. Add honey to taste. Drink three to four cups daily.
10. Stomach Problems
(a) Stomach Ache: Take two desert spoonful of honey after each till it
      stops.
(b) Stomach Cancer: Mix 33cl of honey with33cl of the warm cow milk,
     add a desert spoonful of dried banana skin powder, stir it and drink the
      mixture. It should be represented two times a day for a period of two
      months.
(c) Diarrhoea: Mix a teaspoonful of garlic powder with a cup of tomatoes
     juice and half cup of honey together with a little quantity of salt.
     Adult: one desert spoonful 3 times daily
     Children: one teaspoonful 3 times daily.
(d) Constipation: Mix a teaspoonful of grinded garlic with a cup of fresh
cow milk and add some quantity of honey to for syrup.
Adult: Take two desert spoonfuls every morning for five days.
Children: Take one desert spoonful every morning for five days.
11. Hair Breakage
      Mix honey either olive oil, of the same quantity, mix it with egg yolk and
      treat your hair with it. After fifteen minute, wash it with warm water.
      This should be repeated every month.
12. Mouth Diseases
      Mix undiluted honey with small quantity of salt and limejuice and use it
      to wash your mouth three times daily.
13. Sperm Booster
     Grind soya beans together with groundnut then add to pap to be taken
      together with roasted plantain. After food take carrots and make sure you
      take two spoonfuls of undiluted honey.
14. Pain in the Ear
      If there is pain and disorder in the ear use the pure juice of onions as
      drops two or three times daily alternative, some drops of honey in the ear
      with cotton wool in it can also give instant relief.
15. Bed Wetting
      Normally children control their bladder after two years of age. One
      solution to enuresis is to give the child a teaspoonful of honey when
      going to bed. It serves as a holder and anaesthesia to explain while
      sleeping.
