anada, in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the following list of
diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western
scientists: HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on
bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for
breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and
saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who
have already had an attack, if they do this process daily,
they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular
use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart
beat. In America and Canada ,
various nursing homes have treated patients successfully
and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins
lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the
arteries and veins.
ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night,
one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one
small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly
even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the
Copenhagen University , it was found
that when the doctors treated their patients with a
mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon
of Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found
that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated,
practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and
within a month, mostly all the patients who could not
walk or move around because of arthritis started
walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one
teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink
it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.
CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of
Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water,
given to a cholesterol patient, were found to reduce the
level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two
hours. As mentioned, for arthritic patients, if taken three
times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According
to information received in the journal, pure honey taken
with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.
COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take
one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon
powder daily for three days. This process will cure most
chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache
and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is
revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder
the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the
immune system and protects the body from bacteria
and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey
has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant
use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to
fight bacteria and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of
honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests
the heaviest of meals.
INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a
natural ‘Ingredient’ which kills the influenza germs
and saves the patient from flu.
LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken
regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four
spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder and
three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink
1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin
fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also
increases and even a 100 year old, starts performing
the chores of a 20-year-old.
PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon
powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before
sleeping and wash it off next morning with warm water.
If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from
the root.
SKIN INFECTIONS:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on
the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types
of skin infections.
WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on
an empty stomach and at night before sleeping,
drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup
of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of
even the most obese person. Also, drinking this
mixture regularly does not allow the fat to
accumulate in the body even though the person may
eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that
advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been
cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds
of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey
with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month
three times a day.
FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of
honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the
body. Senior citizens who take honey
and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert
and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that
a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water
and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily
after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M.
when the vitality of the body starts to decrease,
increases the vitality of the body within a week.
BAD BREATH:
People of South America , first thing in the morning,
gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon
powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.
HEARING LOSS:
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder,
taken in equal parts, restore hearing. Remember when
we were kids? We had toast with real butter and
cinnamon sprinkled on it!

Honey

  • Honey works extremely well as a cough suppressant.  In one study, children with respiratory tract infections were given two teaspoons of raw honey directly before going to bed.  Another group were given recommended doses of dextromethorphan, which is a common cough suppressant.  The children who were given the honey showed marked signs of decreased coughing in the night, which matched almost perfectly the decreased coughing in the children who were given dextromethorphan.  So if you don’t have any cough medicine around, honey seems to be a good natural alternative to synthesized medicine in this case.
  • In 2007, a group of researches studied the effect of creating an eye drop solution made with 20% honey and 80% normal artificial tears.  They then tested this against 100% artificial tears on 36 patients, 19 given the honey solution, the rest given the artificial tears.  Each person was instructed to use the eye drops three times a day.  The results indicated that those who used the honey had improved state of their cornea and significant overall improvement of their eye health.  They also reported less discomfort over those who used only artificial tears.
  • In order to make a honey solution suitable for treating eye infections, do the following:  take raw honey and distilled or boiled water and mix them together in equal parts.   Use an eye dropper to put two or three drops of this solution in your eye three to four times a day (obviously if using boiled water, best to wait for it to cool down a bit before applying to your eye.) :-)  Such a solution has even been shown to be effective at curing pink-eye in cattle.  In his particular study, a herd of cattle had pink-eye and one half were given the above solution regularly, while the other was given the veterinarian prescribed medication.  The group given the honey solution were pink-eye free in about half the time the group that used the prescribed medication were.
  • Honey has also been traditionally used to treat sore throats, even commonly used by opera singers and voice actors, generally mixed with lemon and water to create a tonic.  Like so many other traditional honey remedies, this one has only been scientifically researched recently to see if the anecdotal evidence matched with reality.  In one study, done at the University of Waikato in 2000, they confirmed that honey does indeed make a decent sore throat remedy, even as a treatment for strep throat, caused by Streptococci bacteria.  Indeed, they showed in the absence of saliva altogether, honey was drastically more effective than Dequadin and Strepsils at killing the bacteria that cause strep throat.  With saliva present, it was just as effective as Dequadin and two and a half times more effective than Strepsils.
  • Garlic also works well on sore throats, though not necessarily on strep throat (hasn’t been proven yet on strep throat, as far as I can tell).  According to a study done by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, eating garlic while you have a sore throat will significantly shorten the duration of your sore throat.  Further, it was found that eating garlic on a daily basis will significantly reduce your likely hood of contracting a cold and will reduce the number of days you’re sick, if you do get the cold.
  • As mentioned, honey’s antibiotic capabilities are based partially on which type of plant the nectar was harvested from. On the flip-side, there are plants that bees can make honey from that will make you sick, sometimes fatally. For instance, honey made from rhododendrons can cause dizziness, weakness, excessive perspiration, nausea and vomiting shortly after you ingest it. In rare cases, a person can show symptoms including low blood pressure; low heart rates; and lethal heart rhythms, mimicking Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.  It can also create first, second, and third degree heart blocks. The cause of the illness is the grayanotoxin present in the rhododendron.
  • Honey’s potential to help with a worldwide decrease in medical expenses is huge (which is why very little research has been done on it until recently; no profit in it for the pharmaceutical companies). Currently, chronic wounds account for up to 4% of health care expenses worldwide.
  • A 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide is effective at removing blood stains.  Before washing the clothing that is stained, apply the solution.  Next, rinse the clothing with cold water and soap.  Repeat as necessary until the blood stain is gone.  Do not dry the clothing or apply heat before the stain is completely gone or it will “set” it in the cloth.
  • Small amounts of hydrogen peroxide mixed in water is often used by horticulturists when watering plants.  This solution helps prevent root rot and stimulates the plant’s root system development.
  • Hydrogen peroxide can be used to remove skunk odor when mixed with baking soda and a very small amount of hand soap.
  • For you DIY electronic enthusiasts out there, hydrogen peroxide mixed with vinegar and table salt works well for etching printed circuit boards, rather than using ferric chloride or the like.
  • A mixture of hydrogen peroxide with baking soda works well for cleaning the grout in tiled floors.

honey

ey has long been admired for its healing qualities, in addition to its sweet taste. The ancient Egyptians used honey to cure ailments, treat wounds, and even for mummification. Honey has many special properties that make it an excellent, natural treatment for skin care, allergies, cold and flu, and even cancer. With so many great qualities, honey should definitely be on your shopping list. However, there are so many different varieties, it is hard to know which to choose.
The main categories of honey varieties are comb, liquid, creamed, chunky. Comb honey is honey sold still on the honeycomb. Liquid honey is the more common variety, and is the honey taken directly out of the honeycomb. Creamed honey takes granulated, or sugared, honey and blends it with liquid honey to make it firm. Chunk honey is comb honey in a jar with liquid honey. The color of honey ranges from light to dark, and there are a wide variety of flavors. Both the color and the taste depends on the nectar source. There are about 300 unique types of honey in the United States alone, although every area has distinct varieties available. Finding your favorite can take some time while you taste multiple types.
A local, raw honey will treat your allergies. The bees creating the honey use local pollen. Eating this honey is like taking a vaccine against your allergies. Your body builds up a tolerance to the pollen, so it no longer attacks it as a pathogen, which is what causes allergies. Eating local, raw honey is also the best eco-friendly option. Just ensure that the honey is organic and sourced bee friendly.
For skin care, any liquid honey will do, and you can find many skin care products that use honey as a main ingredient if you do not like the idea of rubbing sticky honey on your face. The reason honey is so great for your skin is that it is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Honey helps to treat acne and soothes and restores balance to the skin.
Another common use for honey is to soothe your throat, either due to a cold, flu or overuse. Just add to hot water with a bit of lemon and let it soothe your aching throat. Due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, your throat will start to feel better soon.
For more advanced healthcare from honey, look to Manuka honey. Manuka honey is a special honey produced only in New Zealand from bees that pollinate the manuka bush. Manuka honey has more antibacterial qualities than any other honey due to conversion from an antibacterial agent found in high concentration in the manuka bush. The higher the MG, or methylglyoxal, in honey, the higher the antibacterial qualities. On manuka honey containers, you will see a rating system called UMF, which stands for Unique Manuka Factor and corresponds to this antibacterial agent MG. The higher the UMF rating, the stronger the manuka honey.
Beyond just being antibacterial, curing colds and flus, manuka honey can treat wounds and burns on the skin. However, if using manuka on open sores, be sure to use pharmaceutical grade and not what you have in your pantry because you do not want cross contamination.
Additionally, manuka honey treats many diseases, like cancer and diabetes. Because honey is anti-inflammatory, which the manuka pollen boosts, manuka honey can help treat and cure diseases caused by inflammation, like arthritis. Additionally, manuka honey restores balance of the bacteria in the gut, easing any stomach issues. Because manuka is antibacterial, but it does not have any of the negative side effects of antibiotics, eating a teaspoon of manuka every day will boost your immune system and stop you from catching that nasty winter cold.
Whether you want the intense healing properties of manuka honey, or just want a little soothing properties, using honey is a great natural remedy for a variety of ills.

The mixture of cinnamon and honey has been used for centuries in ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine! Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices used in India that is known for its medicinal and beauty benefits. And honey is still called as “Yogavahi” in the ayurvedic scriptures, which means “the carrier of the healing values to the nerves and tissues”. When honey is diluted or combined with any other beneficial spice or herb, it enhances the medicinal qualities of that particular combination by extending the reach deeper into the tissues and nerves in the body.
We all are familiar with the beauty benefits of honey such as in hair packs and face packs but it also has lot of medicinal benefits and even helps in weight loss. The essential oils present in the cinnamon along with the various enzymes present in honey, produces hydrogen peroxide making the combination an excellent anti-microbial that prevents the growth of fungus and bacteria.

Honey

Honey is a sweet liquid produced by honey bees using nectar from flowers through a process of regurgitation and evaporation.
This Medical News Today information article includes a brief history of honey in traditional medicine and explains some of its potentialhealth benefits.
The possible health benefits of consuming honey have been documented in early Greek, Roman, Vedic, and Islamic texts and the healing qualities of honey were referred to by philosophers and scientists all the way back to ancient times, such as Aristotle (384 - 322 BC) and Aristoxenus (320 BC).
Honey has high levels of monosaccharides, fructose and glucose, containing about 70 to 80 percent sugar, which gives it its sweet taste - minerals and water make up the rest of its composition.
Honey also possesses antiseptic and antibacterial properties. In modern science we have managed to find useful applications of honey in chronic wound management.
However, it should be noted that many of honey's health claims still require further rigorous scientific studies to confirm them.

honey

God gave us a wonderful gift in honey! Full of antioxidants, honey provides energy and healing power! In fact, one study showed that daily consumption of honey led to improved blood antioxidant levels (as noted in Healing Food by Micheal Murray, N.D., page 650).
Honey is a great natural sweetener and also beneficial when applied to the skin topically.
Once I started researching honey, I was astounded by how many uses it has!
The best honey is raw honey. In her book, 10 Essential Herbs, Lalitha Thomas states thatpure raw honey is:
  • an antiseptic
  • an emollient
  • a preservative
  • soothing
  • encourages the growth of new skin when used externally
  • and more!

The following are 10 simple ways to use honey in your food and on your skin:

1. Toast spread with ricotta and drizzled with honey makes a delicious breakfast or snack.
2. Whip up homemade salad dressing in minutes by pouring equal parts honey, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil into a jar, closing tightly with a lid and shaking to mix. Add herbs and salt to taste if desired.
3. Make my favorite peanut butter! (Seriously, the addition of a few tablespoons of honey to the mix makes this peanut butter the best I’ve ever tasted!)
4. Make Chocolate Coconut Oat Bars. Mmmm chocolate! Need I say more?
5. Use as a subtitle for sugar in herbal tea. I have also read that honey’s enzymes and trace minerals boost the effectiveness of the herbs it is mixed with

6. Give yourself a honey facial.
With your fingers, gently rub honey into dry skin (make sure your hair is out of the way). Continue to rub in a circular motion (or any which way, it doesn’t really matter). Wash off with warm water and a clean wash cloth. You’ll be glowing!
7. Apply honey to burns to relieve pain and promote healing. Honey’s anti-microbial properties heal keep infection at bay.
8. When sick, add raw minced garlic to a teaspoon of honey and swallow it down! Sounds horrible, I know. But is a good way to get the healing power of garlic and honey into the body quickly.
9. Give yourself a hair treatment: Massage 1/2 cup of honey into your hair and let sit for 20 minutes (put on a shower cap, plastic bag or wrap with saran wrap, if desired). Shampoo and condition as usual.
(Just a little secret side note – I have honey on my hair as I write this! hee!)
10. Mix powdered herbs with honey to make a quick paste that can be applied topically or taken internally by the spoonful (or mixed with warm water).
Honey works for me!

What did I miss? What have you heard about honey? How do you like to use honey?

Don’t give honey to children under 12 months of age.

honey

1. A hive of honey bees will fly 90,000 miles, the equivalent of three orbits around earth, to collect 2.2 pounds of nectar to produce honey

2. Honey bees are the only insect in the world that produce food eaten by man.

3. Honey bees’ wings beat about 200 times per second. This is where the “buzz” you hear comes from.

4. Honey bee hives consist of 20,000 - 30,000 bees in the winter, and over 60,000 - 80,000 bees in the summer.

5. Worker bees live for 4-9 months during the winter season, but only 6 weeks during the busy summer months.

Cleopatra is said to have ruled Egypt with an iron fist. Apparently, it was also a smooth fist, since she was one of the more famous people in history to use honey for its skin-enhancing properties.
In fact, Cleopatra's legendary milk and honey baths are just one of many historical examples of people using honey to pamper their complexions.   While Cleopatra didn't know why honey softened her skin, new research suggests the Queen of the Nile was definitely onto something.
Manufacturers have used honey in everything from hand lotions and moisturizers to bar soaps and bubble baths.
One reason they use honey is for its wholesome, all-natural image; more and more consumers are demanding cosmetics and personal care products made from natural ingredients. In the case of honey, however, image is just the beginning.
First, honey is a humectant, which means it attracts and retains moisture. This makes honey a natural fit in a variety of moisturizing products including cleaners, creams, shampoos and conditioners. Honey also acts as an anti-irritant, making it suitable for sensitive skin and baby care products.
Honey's prospects in skincare are looking even sweeter; research is currently underway to develop a process using honey to create alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs are an important ingredient in many skin creams and moisturizers because they help exfoliate the skin. Increased exfoliation, or renewal of the skin cells, can give skin a younger, more vibrant look.
Look for honey in store-bought beauty products or try whipping up some simple beauty recipes yourself.

Most of you now know the amazing.  But diabetics must remember that honey does contain carbohydrates (about 17 grams), and if taken in large amounts it can increase blood sugar levels.  So it should be used in moderation.  For most diabetics, honey consumption in moderation should be fine.  Honey is also much sweeter than sugar (about 3 times sweeter), you really don’t need to use as much honey as a sweetener. Also, honey does not raise sugar  levels as quickly as sugar does.
Keep in mind that honey is much more superior than sugar nutritionally. It contains vitamins, enzymes and minerals.   The good news is that many studies have shown that pure, raw honey is a healthier choice for diabetics than sugar or other sweeteners.
If you decide to use honey in your diet, to be safe, check with your doctor first.  And be sure to buy raw, pure honey.  You don’t want to buy inferior honey that is loaded with corn syrup or other fillers and chemicals.
Let’s discuss cinnamon for a minute. It has the ability to boost insulin activity approximately 20 fold, and this greatly improves blood sugar regulation - good news for diabetics!
When you eat cinnamon, it will slow the emptying of your stomach. HONEY

1. It fights infections

Honey fights infections even below the top layer of the skin by unclogging pores and cleaning the impurities lodged in this layer. The active properties of honey penetrate the blocked follicle and kill the bacteria which cause acne and pimples.

2. It’s a humecant

Honey is a humectant, which makes it an effective moisturiser and is often used in the skin and hair care products for its moisturising properties.
It attracts water and retains it in the skin, keeping the skin smooth and supple. It also protects the skin from dryness and premature wrinkles.

4. It’s a source of anti-oxidants

Honey is a great source of anti-oxidant which plays an immensely important role in protecting the skin from harsh ultra violet rays. Over exposure to sun rays can damage the skin, cause premature ageing and can even cause skin cancer.
Thus consumption of honey can protect the skin internally from these free radicals that cause skin damage.

History of honey

Honey jar
Honey has been consumed for thousands of
years for its supposed health benefits.
Over four thousand years ago, honey was used as a traditional ayurvedic medicine, where it was thought to be effective at treating material imbalances in the body.
In pre-Ancient Egyptian times, honey was used topically to treat wounds.1.
Egyptian medicinal compounds more than five millennia ago used honey.
The ancient Greeks believed that consuming honey could help make you live longer.
Even the Prophet Mohammed glorified the healing powers of honey.
The Quran also praises honey's healing ability:
"And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations; Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought."
The beneficial properties of honey have been explored in modern times, and there is evidence to suggest that these historical claims may hold some truth.

Properties of honey

Honey is made up of glucose, fructose, and minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphate, sodium chlorine, potassium, magnesium.
Below is a typical honey profile, according to BeeSource:2
  • Fructose: 38.2%
  • Glucose: 31.3%
  • Maltose: 7.1%
  • Sucrose: 1.3%
  • Water: 17.2%
  • Higher sugars: 1.5%
  • Ash: 0.2%
  • Other/undetermined: 3.2%
The slightly acidic pH level of honey (between 3.2 and 4.5) is what helps prevent the growth of bacteria, while its antioxidant constituents cleans up free radicals. The physical properties of honey vary depending on the specific flora that was used to produce it, as well as its water content.

Health benefits of honey

Modern science is finding that many of the historical claims that honey can be used in medicine may indeed be true. In the Bible (Old Testament), King Solomon said "My son, eat thou honey, for it is good", and there are a number of reasons why it may be good.

Acid reflux

Professor Mahantayya V Math, from MGM Medical College, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai, India, explained in the BMJ (British Medical Journal) that, as it is 125.9 more viscous than distilled water at 37 celsius (body temperature), honey may be helpful in preventing GERD(Gastroesophageal reflux).3

Infantile gastroenteritis

E. Haffejee and A. Moosa reported in the BMJ on a clinical study in which they used honey in oral rehydration solution in children and infants with gastroenteritis. Their aim was twofold:
  • Determine whether honey might affect the duration of acute diarrhea
  • Evaluate honey as a glucose substitute in oral rehydration
They found that honey shortens the duration of bacterial diarrhea in infants and young children.4 They added that honey does not prolong non-bacterial diarrhea duration, and "may safely be used as a substitute for glucose in oral rehydration solution containing electrolytes."

Healing wounds and burns

There have been some cases in which people have reported positive effects of honey in treating wounds. Hurlburt, a borderline diabetic, with recurring cellulitis and staph infections tried taking antibiotics for months, however, they failed to alleviate the symptoms. Hulburt's physician, Jennifer Eddy of UW Health's Eau Claire Family Medicine Clinic, suggested that she should try topically applying honey. Soon after applying the honey she began to feel better.
Hulburt said that she remembers thinking "holy mackerel-what a difference. It's a lot better than having to put oral antibiotics into your system."
A review published in The Cochrane Library indicated that honey may be able to help heal burns, the lead author of the study said that "topical honey is cheaper than other interventions, notably oral antibiotics, which are often used and may have other deleterious side effects."
However, it should be stressed that there is a lack of evidence to fully support this claim. In fact, a study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases concluded that applying medical grade honey to wounds of patients has no advantage over normal antibiotic among patients undergoing dialysis.

Honey for treating allergies

There is some research to suggest that honey may be useful in minimizing seasonal allergies. The Guardian reported that honey even 'beats cough medicine' at alleviating and reducing the frequency of cough.
One placebo-controlled study which included 36 people with ocular allergies, found that participants responded better to treatment with honey compared to placebo. However, a third of them reported that eating a tablespoon of honey every day was hard to tolerate due to its overly sweet taste.

Fighting infections

In 2010, scientists from the Academic Medical Center at the University of Amsterdam reported in FASEB Journal that honey's ability to kill bacteria lies in a protein called defensin-1. 5
A study published in the journal Microbiology revealed that Manuka honey is effective at treating chronic wound infections and may even prevent them from developing in the first place.
Dr. Rowena Jenkins and colleagues, from the University of Wales Institute, reported thatManuka honey kills bacteria by destroying key bacterial proteins.
Some studies have revealed that a certain type of honey, called "Manuka honey", may even be effective for the treatment of MRSA infections.
Dr Jenkins concluded:
"Manuka and other honeys have been known to have wound healing and anti-bacterial properties for some time. But the way in which they act is still not known. If we can discover exactly how manuka honey inhibits MRSA it could be used more frequently as a first-line treatment for infections with bacteria that are resistant to many currently available antibiotics".
Manuka honey may even help reverse bacterial resistance to antibiotics, according to research presented at the Society for General Microbiology's Spring Conference in Harrogate, UK.
A study published in the journal Pediatrics, which compared honey to placebo in helping children with cough during night time, found that honey was superior. The researchers concluded "Parents rated the honey products higher than the silan date extract for symptomatic relief of their children's nocturnal coughand sleep difficulty due to URI (upper respiratory infection). Honey may be a preferable treatment for cough and sleep difficulty associated with childhood URI."6
Natural honey better at killing bacteria than artificial honey - Kendall Powell wrote in the journal Nature that "natural honey kills bacteria three times more effectively" than an artificial honey solution of the same thickness and sugar concentration.7

Honey's other possible uses in medicine

New research is always finding new possible uses of honey in treating certain conditions and diseases.
